In gastric bypass operation, the upper part of the stomach is reduced and directed to the small intestine. With this operation, the patients will experience a feeling of fullness even if they eat less.
Gastric bypass operation takes about 2-4 hours.

WHICH TECHNIQUES ARE USED IN THE GASTRIC BYPASS?
Gastric bypass is only performed with surgical methods and under general anesthesia.
PRE-GASTRIC BYPASS PROCEDURES

Before the operation, the necessary tests required by the doctor should be performed.

Do not eat or drink anything after the period specified by your doctor.

Stop smoking one month before the operation.

Do not take Aspirin, Ibuprofen and some vitamins for a while (two weeks – one month) before the operation, as they may cause bleeding during the operation.

Avoid stimulants, green tea, and alcohol.

Share information with your doctor if you have any digestive system ailments.

Be careful not to use medications that may affect the operation recommended by the doctor.
HOW IS THE GASTRIC BYPASS PERFORMED?
Gastric bypass is performed under general anesthesia so that no pain is experienced.
The doctor cuts out a small part of the stomach during the operation that will enable the patient to eat less. Then, it connects the upper part of the stomach directly to the small intestine and completes the operation by connecting it through a small hole.
AFTER-GASTRIC BYPASS PROCEDURES

Do not eat solid food for a period determined by the doctor.

Follow the recommended meal schedule from liquid to puree, puree to solid.

Do not lift heavy objects and do not put any weight on your body for 1 month after gastric bypass.

Do not smoke for at least 1 month after the operation.

Take B12, Iron, Calcium supplements.

Do exercises that do not force yourself to increase fat burning.

Stick to the nutritional diet given by the doctor.
